Office Assistant will assist CHIP staff in maintaining
office records and functions. Must be familiar with filing, copying and data entry;
basic computer skills are helpful.
Time required is 2-3 hours per week.

Receptionist will help with answering the phone and greeting CHIP clients and visitors,
usually 2-4 hour shifts.
|
|
Volunteers will help with CHIP’s monthly parent group meetings or the Parent
Advisory Committee by assisting the volunteer advisors as needed.

Child Care Attendant must love children, have experience in childcare and be at
least 14 years of age and willing to play with and maintain care of children under the supervision of
CHIP staff.
Child care is provided to allow parents to participate in monthly parent meetings and the
Mentoring Works program.
Time required is 2-4 hours per month.

Volunteers will assist with mass mailings by folding, stuffing and sorting mailings.
Time required is 2-4 hours several times a year.

Volunteers will assist with CHIP special fund-raising events such as Breakfast with Santa,
Pumpkin Fest and Tug for Tots. These events offer good group volunteer opportunities. Time required
is 2-4 hours per event or as needed.

Van driver will be responsible for transporting parents and
children to parent meetings or scheduled outings from September through June, using a church van.
Driver must have valid VA driver’s license and excellent driving record. Staff members will accompany driver.
Time required is approximately 4 hours per month. Position is limited to individuals whose church participates
in our van program.

Volunteers will assist in our Mentoring Works program by encouraging, befriending and
nurturing CHIP parents participating in parenting seminars. Time required is 2 hours per
week for six week period.

|
Interpreters are needed to translate for foreign speaking families, particularly
those who speak Spanish.

- Participate in our annual back to school supply or holiday toy drive
- Hold a CHIP baby shower to obtain baby items for a new mom
- Hold a fund-raiser to support one child in CHIP ($1,168 per year)
- Collect preschool books, make dental packets or first aid kits
